Hiltons Distribution is celebrating its 25th anniversary in the temperature controlled distribution industry by adding three Euro 6 DAF CF85 460 spacecab 44 tonne tractor units to its 25 vehicle fleet.
"The new CFs will be the first DAFs to join the Hiltons fleet," comments Philip Hilton, managing director.
"We purposely chose Euro 6 specification because we want to run the most modern and technically efficient trucks and are keen to help reduce the carbon footprint of our fleet.
They will be used primarily on our contract with Bakkavar Foods to collect product from its factories and deliver into its distribution hub in Spalding."
The Peterborough-based firm was originally founded by former farmer Philip Hilton with a single truck, and has grown consistently during the past two and a half decades.
Hilton continues, "I diversified into transportation early on and started out with a single truck, which I drove myself." |
